The My Settings area is unique for each user and includes common user-specific settings. Once the admin assigns these settings, each firm user can log into their account to review the suggested settings.
Access My Settings
To access My Settings:
- From the left navigation panel, click Setup.
- From the Setup left navigation, click My Settings.
The My Settings screen opens, displaying tabs atop the screen.
Note: Your system access is based on your assigned user permissions, so your setup area access may or may not be identical to other users in the firm.
Wherever you see a tooltip icon (question mark), you can hover over it for onscreen descriptions.
My Preferences Tab
Default Operating Bank |
- Specify a bank to be pre-selected for all operating transactions.

Default Trust Bank |
- Specify a bank to be pre-selected when you create a new matter.

Default Timekeeper |
- Specify a default timekeeper to be pre-selected when you enter time and expenses.
- Will not affect other firm users
- Can select another timekeeper from the list

Default Matter Owner |
- Select a default matter owner to be pre-selected when you create a matter.
- Will not affect other firm users
- Can select another matter owner from the list

Use Client Name |
- Determines how the client’s name displays onscreen
- Default original name format is John Smith.
- Default display name format is Smith, John.

Print Client Name |
- Determines how the client’s name prints on reports
- Default original name format is John Smith.
- Default display name format is Smith, John.

Unbilled entries/Matters Through |
- Default is Set based on billing cycle.
- Determines the include time/expense entries till date when you generate a new invoice.

Send Email When Task is Completed |
- This defaults to Use Firm Default.
- You can choose to override Firm Default by choosing Yes/No from the drop-down.

Check Settings Section

- Used when you create bank transactions
- Set to manual if you do not intend to print checks from the program.

Default Check Style |
- Controls check format type.
- Applicable only if you plan to print checks from the program

Check Print Additional Info (Operating/General) |
- Determines whether payee’s full address prints on checks.
- Applicable only if you plan to print checks from the program

Check Print Additional Info (Trust) |
- Determines whether additional info prints on trust checks
- Applicable only if you plan to print checks from the program

Check Print Sub-Account Location |
- Determines where the sub-account number prints on the check.
- Applicable only if you specified a bank provided sub-account number when creating the matter

Check Print Memo2 on Stub2 |
- Determines whether Memo2 (normally used only for internal notes) displays on the last stub of printed checks
- Applicable only if you plan to print checks from the program

Print Full State/Province Name |
- When checked, the full state or province name will display within the address on your checks.

Font Size |
- Select a Check template format from font sizes 9 to 12.
- The selected font size will apply only to the check and not the stub.

Check Print Offset |
- To accommodate various printers, we provide an offset setting.
- Value must stay between 0 and 2.
- If the text is too high, increase this number.
- If the text is too low, decrease this number.

Trust Settings Section
Trust Retainer Debit Payable Info |
- Default payee when trust funds are drawn to pay invoices

Future Dated Transaction Warning |
- Program alerts user attempting to create a future dated transaction

- Select a default calendar.

Receive Daily Digest Emails to all Users |
- Digests are email summaries of information such as upcoming meetings, overdue tasks, daily activities, etc.

- Select the period of inactivity after which the application will automatically sign you out.
- If the toggle button beside One-Time Passcode via SMS is on, your firm administrator has enabled this application. Contact your firm administrator if you wish to make any changes.
