Manage Task Comments

Comments allow you to communicate with firm users regarding tasks.

From Matter Details

Add a Comment to a Task

To add a comment to a task:

  1. From the left navigation panel, click Matters.
  2. On the Matters screen, either double-click the matter or single-click it, to the far right of the row, click on the three dots and from the drop-down, click View.
  3. From the tabs atop the Matter Summary section, click Matter Management.
  4. From the tabs on the Matter Management section, click Task.
  5. On the Task screen, single-click a task to highlight it, then click on the three dots at the end of the row and from the drop-down, click Comments.
    The Comments screen opens, displaying all comments associated with the task. If no comments are associated with the task, the screen reads There are no comments yet on this item.
  6. Click Add New Comment.
  7. In the Comments box, enter your comments.
  8. Slide the Send email to Notify toggle to notify users, if desired.
  9. If you toggled the Send email to Notify on, click Add user.
  10. From the Tag Users drop-down, select your user.
  11. Toward the middle left of the screen, click Add.
    The system adds your comment and emails your tagged users, if applicable.

Edit a Task Comment

To edit a task comment:

  1. From the left navigation panel, click Matters.
  2. On the Matters screen, either double-click the matter or single-click it, to the far right of the row, click on the three dots and from the drop-down, click View.
  3. From the tabs atop the Matter Summary section, click Matter Management.
  4. From the tabs on the Matter Management section, click Task.
  5. On the Task screen, single-click a task to highlight it, then click on the three dots to the far right of the row and from the drop-down, click Comments.
  6. The Comments screen opens, displaying all comments associated with the task.
  7. To the far right of the comment, click the three dots.
  8. From the drop-down, click Edit.
  9. In the comments box, make your updates.
  10. Click Save.
    The system saves your updates.

Mark a Task Comment as Open

Marking a comment as open allows tagged firm users to reply to it while marking a comment as closed closes the comment thread.

To mark a comment as open or closed:

  1. From the left navigation panel, click Matters.
  2. On the Matters screen, either double-click the matter or single-click it, to the far right of the row, click on the three dots and from the drop-down, click View.
  3. From the tabs atop the Matter Summary section, click Matter Management.
  4. From the tabs on the Matter Management section, click Task.
  5. On the Task screen, single-click a task to highlight it, to the far right of the row click on the three dots and from the drop-down, click Comments.
  6. The Comments screen opens, displaying all comments associated with the task.
  7. To the far right of the comment box, click the three dots.
  8. From the drop-down, click Mark as Open.
    A green open icon displays for comments marked open.
  9. Click Close.
    The Comments screen closes.

Delete a Task Comment

To delete a comment:

  1. From the left navigation panel, click Matters.
  2. On the Matters screen, either double-click the matter or single-click it, to the far right of the row, click on the three dots and from the drop-down, click View.
  3. From the tabs atop the Matter Summary section, click Matter Management.
  4. From the tabs on the Matter Management section, click Task.
  5. On the Task screen, single-click a task to highlight it, to the far right of the row, click on the three dots and from the drop-down, click Comments.
  6. The Comments screen opens, displaying all comments associated with the task.
  7. To the far right of the comment box, click the three dots.
  8. From the drop-down, click Delete.
    The Delete Comment box reads: Are you sure you want to delete selected comment?
  9. Click Yes.
    The system deletes the comment.

From Practice Management

Add a Comment to a Task

To add a comment to a task:

  1. From the left navigation panel, click Practice Management.
  2. From the Practice Management menu, click Task.
  3. On the Task screen, single-click a task to highlight it, to the far right of the row, click on the three dots and from the drop-down, click Comments.
  4. The Comments screen opens, displaying all comments associated with the task. If no comments are associated with the task, the screen reads There are no comments yet on this item.
  5. Click Add New Comment.
  6. Enter your comments.
  7. Check the Send email to Notify box to notify users, if desired.
  8. If you checked the Send email to Notify box, click Add user.
  9. In the Tag Users drop-down, select a user.
  10. Toward the middle left of the screen, click Add.
    The system adds your comment and emails your tagged users, if applicable.

Edit a Task Comment

To edit a task comment:

  1. From the left navigation panel, click Practice Management.
  2. From the Practice Management menu, click Task.
  3. On the Task screen, single-click a task to highlight it, to the far right of the row, click on the three dots and from the drop-down, click Comments.
  4. The Comments screen opens, displaying all comments associated with the task.
  5. To the far right of the comment box you want to edit, click the three dots.
  6. From the drop-down, click Edit.
  7. In the comments box , make your updates.
  8. Click Save.
    The system saves your updates.

Mark a Task Comment as Open

Marking a comment as open allows tagged firm users to reply to it while marking a comment as closed closes the comment thread.

To mark a comment as open or closed:

  1. From the left navigation panel, click Practice Management.
  2. From the Practice Management menu, click Task.
  3. On the Task screen, single-click a task to highlight it, to the far right of the row, click on the three dots and from the drop-down, click Comments.
  4. The Comments screen opens, displaying all comments associated with the task.
  5. To the far right of the comment box, click the three dots.
  6. From the drop-down, click Mark as Open.
    A green open icon displays for comments marked open.
  7. Click Close.
    The Comments screen closes.

Delete a Task Comment

To delete a comment:

  1. From the left navigation panel, click Practice Management.
  2. From the Practice Management menu, click Task.
  3. On the Task screen, single-click a task to highlight it, to the far right of the row, click on the three dots and from the drop-down, click Comments.
  4. The Comments screen opens, displaying all comments associated with the task.
  5. To the far right of the comment box, click the three dots.
  6. From the drop-down, click Delete.
    The Delete Comment box reads: Are you sure you want to delete selected comment?
  7. Click Yes.
    The system deletes the comment.
